Well, the first line of thunderstorms rolled through around 3 o’clock this afternoon. The second line of discrete thunderstorms behind it have weakend. The third line along in the dryline has also broken up some as the storms have rolled into air stabilized behind the first two lines. The lower atmosphere wasn’t terribly unstable to begin with thanks to persistant cloud cover, so we may be done for the evening in many areas. The southern end of the line is in the vicinity of TOP, and with storms moving ENE, the north side of town may get clipped by these storms. So, if we do not see any additional development, the rest of the city is done.
We do, however, have the nose of the upper-level jet streak plowing through Kansas. This, and clearing ahead of the dryline, may aid in the redevelopment of thunderstorms. I’m not seeing any evidence of this happening right now, but the threat is still there…
